something old, something new.
Godspell’s original licensable artwork is a simple vector situation with a rainbow gradient and a giant ‘G’ in the ubiquitous Superman lockup. When MTI acquired the 2012 revival for licensing, I had to come up with art that paid homage to both the original and revival artworks.

We couldn’t secure the rights to the Jesus illustration for licensing, so in keeping with the basic structure of the original and its vector simplicity, I chose to use the brick as the connective tissue between the original iteration and the revival Key Art.

This is the draft I created for the scary circus version of Godspell that obviously wasn't chosen because that’s not the show, but I love it and I need you to love it, too.
