in the beginning, there was only a title.
When MTI was re-releasing Hans Christian Andersen, a musical property that is more than 50 years old, the only art we had available was this purple title treatment. My task was to refresh this treatment and create full Key Art for its digital re-release.
and then there was Key Art.
I highlighted elements from selected stories in the libretto and gave this very old show a sense of heightened drama, movement, and mystery while staying true to the visual idea of a ‘fairy tale.’
